Arras Tunnel

Memorial Park Alliance, comprising NZTA, Downer, HEB, URS & Tonkin & Taylor, were tasked with building a cut and cover tunnel (the Arras tunnel) under Buckle Street and then develop the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park over the top of the tunnel.

Following successful completion of the tunnel, the Alliance was then tasked to develop the design for the Basin Reserve Bridge. The bridge never proceeded to construction.
