WAIKATO EXPRESSWAY,  TAMAHERE TO CAMBRIDGE
Client: New Zealand Transport Agency
Completion Date: December 2015
Team:

This Design and Construct project was successfully delivered by HEB Construction with URS as the lead designer. The project involved the design and construction of 16km of new four-lane motorway, including three interchanges and eight bridges.

The bridges varied in form and material, with concrete, painted steel and weathering steel solutions being delivered. Foundation solutions included both piled and shallow foundations. Many bridges were located at liquefaction-prone sites, requiring surcharging and ground improvement measures to mitigate settlement.
